It’s all uphill all the time for Tribbia. In the winter, he partakes in snowshoe and winter uphill racing and then shifts his focus to uphill mountain racing in the spring, summer, and fall.

“John’s enthusiasm for mountain trail running is incredible. He heads uphill regardless of time, day, weather conditions, or level of difficulty,” said Hillsound Marketing Director Jessica Greinke.“It’s why we’re so excited about the opportunity to provide him with the best equipment to pursue his love of the sport. We’ve seen what he can do thus far. We look forward to seeing what he’s capable of with the help of Hillsound’s products.”

Since 2006, Tribbia has secured an impressive list of career highlights at events throughout the country and in Europe. Notable accomplishments include the fastest known ascent of Wire Mountain in Salt Lake City, UT, 1st overall at the 2014 United States Snowshoe Association Regional Qualifier #2 10K, 3rd overall at the Eddie Bauer Winter Games Uphill, 1st overall at the 2012 America’s Uphill in Aspen, CO, and a sub-40 minute ascent of Grandeur Peak in Salt Lake.

Tribbia’s enthusiasm extends to his studies and community service. In May of 2012, he graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a PhD in Environmental Sociology in which he studied the contributions to climate change of U.S. metropolitan areas. When not on the trail, you can find him dedicating his time to the Mountain Trails Foundation, a non-profit organization staffed by dedicated volunteers who are committed to conserving and maintaining Park City Utah’s trails for non-motorized recreational use.
